10-07-25 Gage is a stunning Great Dane with a heart as big as his paws. This gentle boy came to us from a breeder, unsure of the world but full of potential, and over the past few months, we’ve had the absolute joy of watching him blossom.

Initially a little timid and wary of sudden movements, Gage has slowly but surely started to come out of his shell. Every day brings more confidence and curiosity, and his sweet, goofy nature is beginning to shine through. He’s a big baby at heart, he is affectionate, playful, and always seeking a gentle hand or kind word.

Gage is still learning that the world isn’t as scary as it once seemed, and he’s thriving with calm, patient handling. His ideal home would be one that understands his need to take things at his own pace, a quiet, steady environment where he can continue to grow in confidence and feel safe.

He gets along wonderfully with other dogs, male or female, and would be happiest in a home with a canine companion to help guide and reassure him. However, he could also be the only dog in a home experienced with large breeds and rescue dogs. Gage has met cats during his walks and responded well, so he could potentially live with a dog-savvy cat, given careful introductions and supervision.

This lovely boy does walk on a lead and is learning more about the world each day, including the basics of house training. He’s currently working on his manners, especially when he gets excited and jumps up for attention, so his future family will need to continue this training with kindness and consistency.

Because of his size and enthusiasm, Gage would be best suited to a home with older, dog-savvy children or teenagers who understand he may need time to adjust and are comfortable around big, bouncy dogs.

Gage is now ready to find his forever home, one where he can continue to feel safe, grow in confidence, and be the fun-loving, loyal companion he was always meant to be. If you’re looking for a sweet, affectionate giant with so much love to give, Gage could be your perfect match.

Gage is currently being treated for a ear infection.
