A Quiet Companion with a Heart Full of Love

Shane is a 2-year-old Dachshund who has come to us from a breeder to begin his journey toward a brighter future. He had never lived in a home before, and the world was a big and unfamiliar place to him when he first arrived. But with time, gentle care, and the comfort of kind people and dogs around him, Shane is slowly beginning to blossom.

Now in foster care, Shane is showing his sweet and gentle nature more each day. While he remains a quiet and reserved little soul, he absolutely adores gentle fuss and attention from those he trusts. He prefers to take life at his own pace, calmly observing and quietly finding his feet. His calm nature makes him a lovely and easy companion for a peaceful home.

Shane is doing really well with lead walking and gains confidence with each little outing. He will need a home with at least one kind and confident resident dog to help guide him, as well as patient adopters who can support him as he continues learning about life indoors, including house training and building up his trust. He has met cats and been unfazed with them, so could possibly live with a dog savvy cat.

Shane arrived with some scabbing on his ears which have now healed and he is ready for his forever home.

With time, understanding, and the reassurance of a loving home, Shane will become the most loyal and loving companion. If you can offer him the calm, nurturing environment he needs, please don’t leave this special boy waiting.
