03-09-25 Nellie is a very special girl who was originally born here at Many Tears when her mummy arrived pregnant. She was adopted but sadly returned as she was a little too lively and puppy-like for her family.

Since coming back, Nellie has gone straight into foster with a staff member and has shown just how clever and capable she is. She already knows how to sit, is clean in the house, walks nicely on a lead and has brilliant recall! As she is still a puppy, her training will need to continue to help her grow in confidence and stay consistent, but it’s amazing how much she has already learned.

Nellie is currently living with cats and has been very polite when meeting them, so she could live with dog-savvy cats. She could also live with children who understand she is still young and learning (and who don't mind being licked to death), with other playful dogs who don’t mind sharing their space and enjoy zoomies in the garden, or as an only dog as long as her family are home most of the time and give her the love and affection she deserves. She really loves spending time bonding with her person and a non-negotiable is that she is able to cuddle up in bed with her new family at night time.

Nellie’s adopters will need to agree to have her spayed when she is old enough, and she would benefit greatly from attending puppy training and socialisation classes. Although she already has a fantastic start, these will help her grow into a happy and well-adjusted adult.

We are told that in her previous home Nellie was seen by the vets for showing signs of disorientation. The vets believed this could have been a possible mytoxin, meaning she may have eaten something that she shouldn't have, but also noted it could be related to a neurological issue. However, our vets have checked Nellie and she has shown no signs of neurological problems since the event as far as we are aware but this may need to monitored in the new home.

Nellie is a sweet, confident pup who will make a wonderful companion for a loving family. Whoever adopts her will be very lucky indeed.
