Major
There are some dogs whose hearts break so quietly, you might not even notice at first. Major was one of them.
When he first arrived, Major was a deeply sensitive and confused boy. His world had crumbled around him, and in response, he simply shut down. He would sit quietly in his kennel, eyes unsure and distant, not asking for anything, just silently watching, trying to understand what had gone wrong and where he now belonged. It was utterly heartbreaking to witness.
But slowly, gently, and with great patience, Major has started to find his feet. And what a joy it’s been to see his true self begin to emerge. He’s now showing us just how special he is, full of joyful energy and that typical Springer spark, eager to sniff, run, and explore the world with wide-eyed wonder. Every day feels like a new adventure, and he greets it with tail wags and boundless enthusiasm.
Where once he held back, Major now bounds up for scruffles and affection, craving human company and loving every minute of it. He can still be a little too enthusiastic around other dogs, so we feel he’d be happiest as the only dog in the home where he can soak up all the love. Please note that due to his high prey drive, he cannot live with cats or small furries.
He’s currently being monitored by our vets for a granuloma on his leg.
Major isn’t just looking for a home, he’s looking for someone to see him. To recognise the sweet, fun, and deeply loving boy he is becoming. With kindness and patience, Major will continue to blossom into the most loyal of companions.
