Goldie
Goldie is a beautiful little girl who came to us from a breeder, and in just a short time, she has shown us the true meaning of resilience. When she first arrived, she was absolutely terrified, scared of being touched, unsure of kindness, and completely overwhelmed by the world around her. But since then, Goldie has made incredible progress. With love and kindness she has truly blossomed and these days, she’ll seek out affection, nudge a hand for more fusses, and truly seems to enjoy being close to her trusted humans. Her transformation has been heartwarming to witness.
Goldie has now moved to a foster home, where she is settling in incredibly well and is a sweet girl who is easy to handle and enjoys a gentle stroke and is happy to take a treat or two from you.
Goldie will be looking for a calm and quiet, adult-only home with experienced adopters who understand the needs of scared ex-breeding dogs. She’ll require a very secure garden to explore safely at her own pace, as well as at least one other kind, confident resident dog to help guide her and take her under their wing.
She has started to learn all about walking on a lead and harness and is making slow but steady progress each day and her future adopters will need to continue this with her.
She has never lived in a home before moving to foster, so home life is still very new to her and she's starting to learn all about new skills like house training, but is picking this up so well and is now clean in the house.
Goldie arrived with some soreness in her eyes, which has now improved, and our vets noted some harmless fatty tissue around her mammary glands that requires no treatment.
This lovely girl may not be the dog who rushes to greet you straight away, but for those willing to take things at her pace, the reward will be immeasurable. Watching Goldie grow in confidence and take those first brave steps toward love is an experience you will never forget.
Goldie is proof that with kindness, consistency, and love, even the most frightened hearts can heal. If you think you can offer her the safety and understanding she needs to thrive, please consider opening your heart to this special girl.
