Jive is a gentle, sensitive little girl who came to us from a breeder in search of her forever home. When she first arrived, she was understandably overwhelmed by her new surroundings and nervous about being handled, as she hadn’t yet experienced much kindness in life. Since then, Jive has been making steady progress. She is still a little wary of people, but she is comfortable being handled and has shown her gentle nature even in situations that might be stressful, like bath time. She wasn’t a huge fan, but she tolerated it calmly and without defensiveness. Once she feels secure, Jive is easy to pick up, which will be important in her new home as she learns to trust humans. She’ll need someone patient who can sit with her on their lap and allow her confidence to grow at her own pace.

Jive thrives in the company of other dogs. Having at least one kind and confident canine companion will help her feel secure, build her confidence, and show her just how wonderful life as a loved pet can be.

Jive has now started walking on a lead in the company of other dogs. She is gaining confidence with each walk. She travels to the walks by car, so she is making progress with getting used to car travel too.

A calm, adult-only home with adopters experienced in helping scared ex-breeding dogs will be essential for her to flourish.

Jive has received treatment for dry eyes, and our vet has noted they are looking much better now, though they may need drops in the future.

This sweet, calm girl has so much potential to blossom into a loving, joyful companion. With patience, kindness, and the reassuring presence of a confident canine friend, Jive will learn to trust, feel safe, and finally enjoy the love she so deserves.
