Tweety
Tweety is a beautiful young girl who came to us from a breeder, and while she arrived very shut down and overwhelmed, she’s already making fantastic progress in her foster home. She’s learning what it means to feel safe, loved, and part of a family, one gentle step at a time.
In foster, Tweety is living happily alongside two dogs and three cats. She absolutely adores the company of the dogs, especially the resident rescue Beagle, and often snuggles up with them for comfort. She’s still working out how to interact with the cats and may try to play, so any feline companions will need to be dog-savvy and tolerant.
Though initially very nervous of people, Tweety has made real strides. In just a week, she’s gone from shy and unsure to greeting her foster family and visitors with a waggy tail, and even offering licks. She now enjoys snuggles on the sofa, takes treats gently, and is learning commands like “sit” with the help of positive reinforcement.
Tweety wears a collar and harness comfortably and is slowly gaining confidence on the lead, though she can still be skittish and unsure at times. Car travel is manageable for her when she’s with other dogs, though she may drool when anxious. A patient adopter will be key to helping her continue to grow in confidence.
Thanks to her doggy companions, Tweety has picked up house training very well and is mostly clean indoors. She enjoys toys, garden zoomies, and exploring her surroundings at her own pace. Watching her learn how to enjoy life is incredibly heartwarming.
Tweety will need a calm, adult-only home with experienced adopters who understand the needs of ex-breeding dogs. A confident resident dog is essential to continue guiding her and giving her reassurance. A secure garden is also a must, so she can explore safely as she continues to build her trust.
She may still have a journey ahead of her, but Tweety has already shown that with time, structure, and love, she will blossom into the wonderful companion she was always meant to be.
