I am a little overweight at the moment and my lip folds require daily cleaning.

Jibe is a very scared girl who originally came to us from a breeder to find her forever home. The world feels like a very big and scary place to her and she can be skittish and flighty, and her first instinct is to run away from people. It’s clear that Jibe hasn’t had much positive human interaction, and everything is new and daunting for her.

Jibe was briefly adopted but has sadly been returned to the rescue as she wasn't getting along with the resident dog in the home. We are told that they did get along most of the time, especially when out in the garden or in other neutral areas, but Jibe began to guard her space from the resident dog, especially areas like beds, the sofa or living room. For this reason she will now be looking for a home where the resident dog was her size or larger and confident enough to not let her push them around. Jibe has occasionally shown signs of resource guarding her food and high value toys too, though her adopters said that this was managed well in the home. For this reason she will be looking for an adult only home and will need adopters who are committed to working on this with her.

Jibe's adopters said she was a lovely girl and were very sad to have to return her. They mentioned that she did grumble and bark at them on a few occasions when initially settling in, but this soon stopped as she started to come out of her shell. She had never lived in a home before being adopted, but her house training was progressing nicely and she had only had one accident. She had settled beautifully into home life and was enjoying all of the creature comforts.

Jibe is a little overweight and would benefit from a healthy diet and plenty of exercise. She has recently had her lip folds cleaned, and this will need to be monitored in her new home to ensure she is always comfortable and healthy!

Though she has started to gain a little confidence, Jibe is still a very scared girl who isn't yet brave enough to approach you and will need lots of love and TLC as she continues to come out of her shell. She has now started to practice wearing a harness and lead but this is still very new for her and she will need more practice.

Jibe will be best suited to an adult only home, with adopters who have experience with scared ex-breeding dogs and who understand it may take quite a while for her to truly start to come out of her shell, but once she does the wait will be so worth it.

Our vets have noted that her lip folds are prone to collecting saliva build up and so will need daily cleaning.
