I have been spayed and am ready for my forever home.

Tenby is a tiny little girl with a very heavy past. She came to Many Tears from a breeder, having had almost no kind human contact in her life. Understandably, she was terrified of everything, hands, voices, movement, even kindness itself. When she first arrived, human touch was frightening, and she preferred to keep her distance, watching the world from a place she felt safe.

Tenby has spent the last several months taking small, brave steps forward. She started to lay close to her kennel mum in the yard, sometimes even closing her eyes, a huge sign of trust for a dog who once flinched at every movement. She even started taking treats from the hand and following her kennel mum around, hoping for something yummy. Food has become a bridge between fear and trust, and watching her learn from her kennel friends has been a joy.

Recently, Tenby faced another big challenge: her first full groom with clippers. The wet weather had matted her fur, and though she was nervous and uncomfortable, she allowed her carer to groom her back and legs. For her tummy and face, the stress was too much, so she had a light sedation at the vets to complete the groom safely. Since then, she has been wearing a jumper daily to keep warm, another new experience she is learning to accept.

Tenby has now taken another big step towards her forever home and has recently moved to a wonderful foster home. She is settling in well and is learning all about home life and has even been completely clean in the house so far, choosing to do all her business in the garden. She sleeps through the night in a crate and is fine to be left home a couple of hours, as long as she has her doggy friends for comfort.

What Tenby Needs

Tenby is looking for a calm, quiet, adult-only home with adopters who truly understand the needs of scared ex-breeding dogs. She will need at least one kind, confident resident dog to offer reassurance and companionship. She loves to share her bed with other dogs, so it's vital they would be happy to cuddle up with her. A secure garden is essential as she is not yet ready for lead walks, and her adopters will need patience while she continues to settle in to home life.

Tenby is a little project dog and will need time, consistency, and unconditional love. She will give back in ways that are quiet but incredibly moving, the trust of a broken little soul slowly learning to heal.

Tenby is trying her best to be brave and she deserves someone who will never give up on her, who will stand by her every step of the way, and who will see the bravery and potential hidden inside her tiny heart.

With love, patience, and understanding, Tenby will continue to blossom, and she is ready for that special someone to help her shine.
