Yager
Yager’s journey so far has been one of quiet bravery. This delicate little girl came to us from a breeder, carrying with her a lifetime of uncertainty and fear. When she first arrived, the world felt too big, too loud, and far too frightening. She would hide herself away at the faintest sound of footsteps, unable to move a muscle, as though being invisible was the only way to feel safe. Kind hands and gentle voices were things she had never known.
But in her own time, and with endless patience, Yager has begun to show us the sweetest glimpses of the dog she is destined to become. No longer frozen in fear, she now plays with her kennel friends even when humans are nearby, racing around with happy zoomies. She enjoys her chew toys in plain sight, and in one of her bravest moments yet, she even came forward for a little squeezey cheese, choosing trust over fear. For Yager, these are huge achievements, and we could not be prouder of her courage.
She still has a long way to go, but her progress proves that in the right home, with love and patience, this shy soul will continue to blossom. Yager will need a calm, quiet, adult-only home with adopters who truly understand the needs of a scared ex-breeding dog. She finds great comfort in the company of other dogs, so she must have at least one kind and confident resident dog to lean on, to guide her, and to help her feel safe as she learns how to navigate the world.
Yager has never lived in a home before, so everything, from the feel of carpet under her paws to the sound of a kettle boiling, will be brand new and possibly overwhelming. She will need gentle guidance with house training, and she isn’t ready for lead walks just yet. For now, she will need a very secure garden where she can safely practice wearing a harness and begin taking her first brave steps.
She may be underweight today, and she may still carry her fears, but Yager is already showing us that she has the heart of a fighter and the soul of a gentle companion. With love, patience, and time, her true personality will shine through.
Yager is a little underweight at the moment, but with time, love, and proper nutrition, she will begin to fill out and flourish.
Yager is a very special little girl. She has already come so far, and with the right family by her side, her “happily ever after” is waiting just around the corner.
