Cedric is a gorgeous Beagle boy who originally came to us from a breeder. He was lucky enough to be adopted, but sadly returned after showing some resource guarding, particularly around food. Because of this, Cedric is now looking for an experienced, adult-only home with patient adopters who are committed to continuing his training and helping him thrive.

Despite his difficult past, Cedric truly is a very special dog with a heart of gold. He hasn’t had the best start in life, but he has a huge zest for living and is determined to find joy wherever he can. In kennels, he is a chilled and friendly lad who gets along well with both male and female dogs, and he could either live with other kind dogs (as long as he is fed separately) or be the only dog in the right home. He is fine sharing treats with other dogs and will happily let you take away little treasures his beagle nose has found.

Cedric is a classic Beagle through and through: adventurous, curious, and happiest when he’s out exploring. His absolute favourite pastime is sniffing to his heart’s content, and he would make a fantastic adventure buddy for someone who enjoys long walks and outdoor fun. He even has the confidence and personality to take on a “van life” with the right human, travelling and exploring new places together. At the end of the day, though, Cedric is also a cuddly, loving boy who just wants to be close to his people. He has mat cats well and we would consider homing him with a dog-savvy cat who respects his space.

Although Cedric has lived in a home briefly, everything about home life is still relatively new to him. His adopters will need to support him with things like house training, settling when left, and keeping him occupied so he doesn’t become destructive when bored. He will need plenty of enrichment, long-lasting chews, and interactive toys to keep his busy beagle brain happy.

Cedric has had one tooth removed at the time of his castration but is otherwise doing well.

This bright, adventurous, and affectionate boy has been waiting far too long in kennels, when all he really wants is a home and a human of his own.
