Full of Heart and Ready to Try Again: Jax

Jax is a 4-year-old crossbreed - possibly scottie cross poodle, with a spark in his eye and so much love to give. Originally from a breeder, Jax did spend time in a home during a previous adoption, and although things didn’t work out long-term, he learned a lot along the way. He now finds himself back at the rescue, still hopeful and ready to try again with a home that can support his needs and help him thrive.

This clever little chap already knows lots of commands like sit, lie down, wait, leave it, and out. He’s fantastic on the lead, house trained, and sleeps peacefully in his crate at night. While some accidents may happen as he settles into a new routine, Jax has a solid foundation and is eager to please.

Jax adores attention and would love to be your one and only. He prefers being the only dog in the home, as he can find other dogs a bit unsettling, and he really thrives when all the love is focused just on him. Once he knows you, he is incredibly affectionate and wants nothing more than to be involved in everything you do—your very own little shadow.

He can be a bit shy around new people, particularly men, but with kindness and patience, his sweet and trusting nature shines through. Jax has shown some guarding behaviours over things he holds dear, so he’ll need confident adopters who can offer gentle guidance and clear boundaries.

Recently, Jax had a vet visit to clean his ears and clip his nails (which he is not keen on at all) we cheered him up with extra cuddles and a frozen Kong treat to lift his spirits. A gentle stroll in the shade afterwards showed just how adaptable and loving he is, even on a quiet day.

Jax may have had a rocky start, but he’s full of promise and ready for a fresh beginning. His ideal home will be adult only, calm, understanding, and committed to helping him feel safe and secure. In return, Jax will bring joy, loyalty, and endless affection to your life.
