Vanna
Poor Vanna... this sweet, soulful little Cocker Spaniel has watched so many of her kennel friends leave for their forever homes, but she is still waiting. She has been with us far longer than we ever expected, and although she tries her best to stay cheerful, it’s clear her heart aches for a family of her own.
Vanna came to us from a breeder and has already known the heartbreak of being adopted and returned. When she first arrived, she was unsure and overwhelmed, but over time, she has blossomed into a loving, loyal girl for those she knows and trusts. She greets familiar faces with waggy tails, excited kisses, and the biggest cuddle as if to say, “I remember you, I love you.”
She’s a gentle soul who adores her walks and will trot along beside you, tail high, nose sniffing the air. She’s shared kennels and companionship with several male dogs, always kind and respectful and she truly lights up in the company of a calm, friendly boy. She will need to live with at least one larger male dog in her new home to help her feel settled and secure.
Vanna has made incredible progress with us. She still guards high-value items occasionally, but with firm, kind guidance she responds well and trusts her carers. There are far more challenging dogs who find homes quickly but for some reason, Vanna continues to be overlooked.
She is looking for an adult-only home with no visiting children, and adopters who understand that love and trust can take time to grow. But once that bond is there, Vanna will be your shadow, your best friend, your everything.
We’ve seen the real Vanna, the goofy, playful, affectionate girl she is when she feels safe. We know the right home is out there somewhere. We just hope they find her soon. She’s waited long enough.
