10-07-25 Bonnie originally came to us through no fault of her own, after her beloved owner sadly moved into care. She has spent the majority of her life in a home where she was deeply loved and doted on, and we’re now hoping to find her a new family who can offer her that same comfort and devotion. She was briefly adopted, but her adopters felt she wasn't quite the right fit for them and needed a more active home so has sadly returned her to our care.

Bonnie's previous owner shared that she rarely left the house apart from short walks and occasional trips to the groomers, however in her more recent home she started to go on walks and adventures and realised just how wonderful they were and how much she loves them! She can be quite strong on the lead and did once pull and cause her collar to come off, so she will need to be walked on a harness and her adopters will need to work on this with her to help her learn to walk to heel. She would love a home where she can go on a few walks a day.

Bonnie hasn’t been overly socialised with other dogs, she does get along well with them, especially in social settings but would prefer to be homed as an only dog where she can get all the fuss and attention.

We are told that she is house trained, but she may need some reminders as she settles in. She loves to play with toys and chase a ball but also loves a good snooze. Her previous owner did admit she’s been a little bit spoiled, she’s been known to become a tad vocal if she thinks you might be persuaded to share your dinner or if she’s not quite the centre of attention!

She is an extremely sweet and affectionate girl, but as anyone who loves the Shih Tzu or Poodle breed may know, they can be a little stubborn if they don't want to do something and she can sometimes be a little grumpy when she is having her eyes or ears cleaned or is being asked to do something that she doesn't want to and has on occasion done a little warning snap. For this reason she will be best suited to an adult only home.

Bonnie is a sweet, cheeky girl with so much love to give, and we can’t wait to see her back in a home where she truly belongs.

Bonnie has Heart Arrythmia and has had a lump removed from her head at the time of her spay.
