A Heart Full of Love: Bunny's Beautiful Journey

Meet Bunny, a beautiful crossbreed who came to us from Ukraine after losing her home and family due to the war. Thanks to the wonderful charity War Paws, Bunny was rescued from the streets and given a second chance at life. In August 2024, she made her way to Many Tears in the hope of finding the loving family she so deserves.

Bunny is an incredibly gentle and affectionate girl who has won the hearts of everyone at the rescue. She’s been through so much and has spent most of her young life in kennels, but her capacity to love and trust is nothing short of remarkable. Although she can be shy and unsure around new people, especially men, it doesn’t take long for Bunny to open up. Once you’ve earned her trust, she will greet you with her waggy tail, give you cuddles, and gently nudge you for belly rubs.

Kennels are a hard place for a dog like Bunny, and her true personality shines when she’s given calm, one-on-one time. She’s been making steady progress, learning to walk beautifully on the lead, travel calmly in the car, and even meet new people with increasing confidence. A recent day out to the beach and country park showed just how far she has come, Bunny was amazing throughout and loved every moment of her adventure.

Bunny will need a quiet, understanding home with adopters who have the time and patience to let her settle at her own pace. She is still wary of sudden movements and loud noises, so a calm environment is essential. She may be best suited to a home with older teenagers who are dog-savvy and can respect her boundaries.

We would consider homing Bunny as an only dog in the right circumstances, as long as her adopters were around most of the time. If she was homed as an only dog, she would also need adopters who have experience with rescue dogs and will let her settle in and warm up to them at her own pace. If Bunny was homed with another dog, they would need to be a larger, confident male dog. She has met cats well here and could possibly be homed with a dog savvy cat.

Bunny comes with her passport and full travel documentation. She has tested negative for a full panel of diseases including Heartworm, Ehrlichia, Anaplasmosis, Babesia, Borrelia, and Canine Brucellosis.

After all she has been through, Bunny is more than ready for the love and stability of a forever home. She truly is one in a million, and if you take the time to see past her initial nerves, you'll find the most loyal, loving companion you could ever hope for.

If you think you could be Bunny’s special someone, please come and meet her, you might just be the one she’s been waiting for.
