Channel’s Still Waiting: A Loyal, Quirky Girl Looking for Her Match

Channel is a 2-year-old crossbreed with a unique and striking look, likely a blend of Terrier, Shar-Pei, and perhaps a few other breeds too. She arrived at Many Tears from a heart-breaking hoarding case, where 49 dogs were found crammed into just a couple of rooms. Channel has watched nearly all her companions find homes, and now, after more than eight months in kennels, we’re still waiting for the right person to see just how special she is.

She’s come a long way since those early days of uncertainty. Channel is still shy with new people but has shown she’s capable of building strong bonds. Once she knows and trusts you, she’ll greet you with tail wags and affection. She enjoys going for walks, exploring new places, and stretching her legs in the agility yard. She’s especially brave when she’s with other dogs, as their company gives her confidence.

Channel is independent and spirited, with a terrier-like spark. She loves adventures, but she also needs the freedom to take things at her own pace. She still finds some situations overwhelming and can be reactive when overexcited, particularly on lead, so she needs adopters who are calm, patient, and experienced with terrier-type dogs.

She’s one of those dogs who may take time to settle, but when she does, she’ll be your most loyal friend.

Channel would love a home that can offer:

  • A calm, quiet home environment (where any kids are 12+ and rescue dog savvy)
  • No cats, small dogs, or small furries
  • Either a dog-free home or one with a calm, larger dog (but no flat-faced breeds)
  • A terrier-experienced adopter who understands her quirks and behaviours
  • Time and patience to help with house training and settling into home life
  • Access to a secure garden and lots of adventures outdoors
  • A quiet space just for her where she can decompress and chill when needed

She might not be the easiest dog at first, but she’s one of the most rewarding. Channel’s had such a long wait, but we believe her perfect person is out there. Someone who sees her for the brilliant, brave girl she is and is ready to show her just how kind the world can be.

If that could be you, please come and meet Channel. She’s ready for her second chance.
