28-06-25 Flower has come to us from a breeder to find her forever home. She is a worried little soul who is quite overwhelmed to find herself here at the moment. When she is on her own, she is very sad and shut down, but when she is with other dogs, she truly lights up and finds great comfort in their company. It is heart warming to see how much braver she feels with her canine friends by her side.

For this reason, Flower will be looking for a calm and quiet home where there is at least one other kind and confident resident dog who can be her friend and help her learn all about the big wide world. She will rely heavily on the reassurance of her new doggy companion for comfort.

Flower has never lived in a home before, so everything will be completely new to her. She will need patient adopters who can help her learn all about home life and new skills like house training. She will also need to learn how to walk on a lead when she is ready, first practicing in a secure garden while she gains confidence.

Flower has a long-standing issue with her front left leg, which has led to a limp and some muscle wastage, likely from not using the leg properly for some time. We have done x-rays and our vets feel that this is most likely neurological and could be caused by nerve damage, as she shows signs like knuckling her paw. Our vet, in conjunction with a physiotherapist has created some exercise plans for her to help encourage her to use her leg more, which seems to be working well so far and can be discussed in further detail with any potential adopters. Flower is currently on on-going steroids for pain relief which will need to be continued in the home as she is responding well to the treatment. It could be beneficial to her if her new adopters were willing to take her to hydrotherapy and physiotherapy. Her adopters would need to be aware that should she require any further investigation or treatment, it would not be covered by insurance. For this reason she is available by donation. She has also had a small skin tag surgically removed from above her eye as it was causing discomfort and has been diagnosed with Horner's Syndrome and has been prescribed a steroid eye drop twice a day to see if it improves.

Flower is a gentle girl who will need understanding adopters who can offer her the time, patience, and support she needs to blossom into the happy Flower she deserves to be. If you feel you could be the special person (or family) to help Flower find her confidence and live a full life, please consider offering her the loving forever home she is searching for.
