Sunshine
Sunshine is a truly beautiful, gentle girl who has come from a breeder and is now learning about the world for the very first time in foster care. Life so far has not shown her much kindness, and while she is slowly beginning to trust, she remains a very shut-down and worried little soul. She will accept a soft stroke but doesn’t yet understand the meaning behind human touch, and she is still trying hard to work out if people are safe.
Sunshine relies heavily on other dogs for comfort and confidence, and really comes out of her shell when she is with calm, kind canine friends. She has been a quiet, steady companion to both big and small dogs in her foster home, and for this reason she must have at least one resident dog in her new home to guide her and give her reassurance.
Sunshine walks nicely on the lead but can be flighty and spook easily, so she needs a very secure and peaceful environment. She travels well in the car and is starting to explore her surroundings more, gently pottering about the house and garden with the other dogs but she still keeps a close eye on humans and will retreat if she feels unsure.
As Sunshine has never lived in a home before, everything is new and a little overwhelming, so her adopters will need to be patient and understanding while she learns about house training, household noises and daily life. A safe-zone crate or quiet area would help her feel secure.
Sunshine is not ready to be a cuddly companion just yet but given time, kindness, and absolutely no pressure, we believe a very special bond will grow. She needs:
- A calm, adult-only home with experienced adopters
- At least one gentle resident dog
- A secure garden and quiet environment
- Patient adopters who will let her progress at her own pace
Sunshine has all the potential in the world, she just needs someone willing to believe in her and let her heart unfold in her own time. With the right home, we know she will finally learn what it feels like to be loved, safe and truly shine.
