A Gentle Soul Ready to Bloom

Under Cover, known as Connie in her foster home, is a delicate and darling 6-year-old Cavapoo who has come to us from a breeder to begin her new life. With her long Poodle legs, soft eyes, and sweet nature, she is quietly winning hearts one small step at a time.

Under Cover has never lived in a home before, so everything is new and understandably a little overwhelming. She is a very sensitive girl who can get easily worried, but her bravery and resilience are already shining through. In her foster home, she is making remarkable progress each day. Although she doesn’t like being picked up, once gently held she relaxes completely, often drifting off to sleep in her fosterer’s arms.

This little lady is still learning about the comforts and routines of home life. She is not fully house trained yet, but is already starting to understand what’s expected of her, especially when encouraged gently and shown by her doggy friends. She’s even mastered the dog flap and is cautiously learning to navigate stairs. Her adopter will need to continue helping her with toilet training and walking on a lead, all at her pace and with lots of reassurance.

Under Cover eats her food well and is beginning to discover her favourite treats, especially cooked chicken or sausage. She sleeps peacefully through the night and is very quiet, she hasn’t barked at all but has occasionally howled very softly when first settling in. This has stopped now that she’s feeling safer and more settled.

Because she is still quite anxious and easily startled, Under Cover will need an adult-only home that is calm, patient, and loving. A kind and confident resident dog is essential to help guide her, comfort her, and show her how lovely life can be. She would not cope with being left alone for long periods and would thrive in a home where someone is around most of the time.

Under Cover has had one tooth extracted and a mammary lump removed. She’s doing well now and shows no signs of discomfort.

This beautiful girl has so much potential. She is smart, affectionate in her own quiet way, and clearly wants to trust and be loved. With the right support, she will blossom into the most wonderful companion.
