Chia Pet is an adorable boy who came to us from a breeder in search of the loving forever home he so deserves. When he first arrived, he was a very shy and overwhelmed little lad, but with patience, love, and time, he is really starting to come out of his shell and show us what a special boy he is.

Chia Pet has now settled well in his foster home, where his gentle and sweet nature shines through. He absolutely loves his food and has even discovered the joy of toys, proudly carrying them into the garden to play. He is sleeping soundly through the night and is doing brilliantly with his housetraining – he is almost completely clean in the home. He has also made wonderful progress with his harness training and enjoys his walks, though he feels most confident when he has another dog by his side. Because of this, Chia Pet will need a home with at least one kind and confident resident dog to help guide him and give him reassurance and an adult-only home where he can feel safe and loved.

Chia Pet has had all of his remaining teeth removed, so he will need a soft food diet for life, but he manages this well. Our vets have also noted that he has a narrow anus, which does not cause him any problems but should continue to be monitored by his adopters and their vet.

At the moment, Chia Pet would be best suited to an adult-only home, as he can still be a little unsure of children. He is a gentle, sensitive soul who just needs time, understanding, and the companionship of another dog to help his confidence grow.

Chia Pet has come so far already, and in the right home he will continue to blossom. He is such a sweet boy who is ready to find his forever family and enjoy the love and security he has always deserved.
