  • Human family requirements

I need a calm and quiet home where I can settle in at my own pace.

  • Other pet requirements

I need a resident dog to help me settle in and I have never met cats.

  • House and garden requirements

I would like a secure garden to spend time in.

  • Out and about requirements

I'm still not confident but I'm enjoying being out with my pals.

  • Training needs

I have never lived in a home so I will need help to learn house training.

  • Medical issues

I have hormonal alopecia and grade 2 luxating patella in my right hind leg.

Quilt is a gentle little Cavalier who has come to us from a breeder to find her forever home. She is a shy girl who is trying so hard to be brave but is still quite worried at times. Despite her nerves, she is a sweet-natured and easy-to-handle little soul who just needs time and patience to learn that life can be kind.

She takes great comfort from the company of other dogs and truly relies on them for reassurance and guidance, so she will need to go to a home where there is already at least one kind and confident resident dog to help her settle. A calm home with a secure, relatively flat garden would suit her best.

Quilt had never lived in a home before arriving in foster care, but she is doing really well. She has been completely clean indoors, although, as she has free access to the garden, she hasn’t yet learned how to ask to go out. She sleeps happily with the other dogs and joins in with the morning wake-up call for breakfast. She loves her food and will quite happily help her canine friends finish theirs too, so she will need a little supervision at mealtimes! She takes treats from your hand but is still learning to be gentle with her manners.

Lead training is a work in progress. Quilt is still nervous, but her foster family have been helping her by letting her travel in a little “chariot” so she can be out and about with her friends. With time and encouragement, she will gain confidence and learn to enjoy her walks.

Medically, Quilt has some hormonal alopecia on her back which may grow back once she has been spayed, but this cannot be guaranteed. She also has a Grade 2 patella luxation in her right hind leg. This may improve with gentle exercise, but if she needs further treatment in future, it would not be covered by insurance.

Quilt has a travel document.
