Windy is a gentle little girl who came to us from a breeder, hoping to find the peaceful, loving home she truly deserves. She is a very scared little girl who is quite touch sensitive and very worried about being handled at the moment. Since her time in foster, she has begun to open up, and although she is still worried, she is beginning to trust and show her true and shining personality.

What may look like baby steps to us are huge milestones for her. Although still touch sensitive, she will now cautiously accept gentle strokes while in her bed and has started taking treats from her trusted foster mummy. She is gradually becoming more comfortable with human hands, especially if they have treats. Each moment of progress shows her growing courage, and we couldn’t be prouder.

Windy draws confidence from the dogs around her, often snuggling up with her canine friends for comfort and reassurance. Windy will be looking for a home where there were at least two other dogs to help her settle in, so that she will always have a dog around her for comfort. As she continues to settle into her foster home, she is learning about house training and is almost completely clean in her foster home, but may need a few reminders in her new home.

Windy will need continued confidence while she continues to learn walking on a lead and harness, and so would be happiest exploring a secure garden where she can enjoy gentle sniffs and light exercise while building trust with her new family. However, she regularly goes to a secure dog field with her furry foster buddies, and absolutely loves it! As she is timid and easily spooked, a very secure outdoor space and extra care around doors and exits are essential.

Windy is looking for a calm and quiet, adult-only home with patient adopters who have experience with ex-breeding dogs and will allow her to settle at her own pace. She isn’t going to be the quickest fix, but the journey with her will be deeply rewarding. Once she lets her guard down, she will offer love and gratitude unlike any other - the kind that only a once-mistrusting rescue dog can give.

Windy is developing cataracts in both eyes, which will need to be monitored. She has also had 6 teeth extracted at the time of her spay, and was already missing 4 teeth. The vets have noticed a very low click on the right patella, but do not believe she needs further treatment, and this may improve with gentle exercise.

She has a travel document.
