Dinky
Dinky is a sweet little girl who originally came to us a few months ago, she was adopted but sadly she has been returned to us as she wasn't the right fit for the adopters home. Dinky may be small in size, but she has a big heart just waiting to be filled with love. She was a worried little girl when she first arrived, but it hasn't taken her long to start to come out of her shell! She is now in a foster home and adores her creature comforts like warm cosy beds.
She has realised just how wonderful love and affection is and is absolutely desperate to receive all the love she can and just loves to be picked up and cuddled. Although she is now very happy to be handled, she is very overwhelmed by children and really struggled to cope with visiting grandchildren in her previous home and did nip out of fear, so for this reason she will be looking for an adult only home.
Dinky will be looking for a home where her adopter is around most of the time and will offer her all of the love and attention she desires. Although she gets along well with other dogs, she can be jealous of sharing attention and so for this reason, we feel that she will be happier being homed as an only dog, so she can have all the love and affection for herself. We would consider homing her with a laid-back resident dog who was larger than her.
Before arriving with us, she had never lived in a home, but she has taken to home life very well and is now mostly toileting outside and on puppy pads, though does still have the occasional accident. She is learning all about walking on a lead and harness and enjoys going for short walks.
Dinky is showing signs of early cataracts in both eyes, and our vets have noted that she has stenotic ear canals in both ears, which will require regular cleaning and may be prone to infections. Her little teeth poke out slightly, which only adds to her quirky charm and unique character. She has arrived with several teeth missing and has had a further two extracted at the time of her spay. Her adopter noted that she had slightly itchy skin, so had some medicated baths and this will need to continue to be monitored in her new home. She can on occasion have a slight limp, which will need to be monitored. Although her microchip and travel document say she is 8 years old, we feel that she could be slightly older than this and closer to 11 years old.
She is the most wonderful little girl and whoever adopts her is going to fall head over heels in love with her!
