Sunny is a young girl who came to us from a breeder, arriving very timid and unsure of the world. At first, she would flinch from touch and shut down completely, not yet able to understand that kind voices and gentle hands mean love. Despite her fear, Sunny has never shown aggression, only confusion and sadness at a life she doesn’t yet know how to navigate.

Sunny has started to make wonderful progress and has shown us the brave little soul she truly is. She is now walking beautifully on her harness and will happily walk for miles if you want to, and when you enter her kennel she will approach with curiosity—a huge step forward for her. She now makes regular trips to our big play yard and loves it! Slow, quiet handling is still advised as she continues to adjust and build confidence, but with gentle reassurance she is slowly learning that the world is not so scary, and it is a joy to see her blossoming.

Sunny is currently kennelled with a male Bocker, whom she adores, and she has also lived happily alongside female dogs here too. She gets on with every single dog, shares food, toys, and her space exceptionally well, and she will do anything for food! She looks to her kennel friends for reassurance, so in her forever home she will benefit from the company of a calm, confident canine companion to help guide her and continue building her confidence.

Having never lived in a home before, everything about home life will be brand new for Sunny. She will need patient adopters to help her learn about house training, the safety of a secure garden, and the routines of family life. Sunny could share her home with older, dog-savvy teenagers aged 16 and over if the home is a great match for her needs. This will take time and love, but Sunny is already showing us how hard she is trying, and we believe she will flourish once given the chance.

Sunny’s journey will not be quick or easy, but behind her worried eyes is a sweet young girl longing to be loved. With kindness, patience, and the reassurance of a canine companion, she will blossom into the most loyal and wonderful friend. Please don’t leave this brave little girl waiting too long, she so deserves her chance to shine.

Our vets have noted that Sunny has a benign epidermoid cyst on her hock, which they will monitor and may remove.

Sunny has a travel document.
