Poppy
17-06-25 Poppy has come to us from a home through no fault of her own, after a change in her owner’s circumstances meant they could no longer care for her. She is a sweet but scared girl who is understandably feeling quite overwhelmed to find herself here. At the moment, she is a little worried about us and all the new sights and sounds, but once you spend some time with her, she becomes much easier to handle and will allow you to gently fuss her.
Poppy is looking for a calm and quiet home where she can truly relax and feel safe. It will be essential for her to have at least one other kind and confident resident dog in her new home who can be her friend and help her grow in confidence. Having another dog to take her under their wing will make all the difference as she settles in.
Although Poppy has come from a home, we are told that she lived both indoors and outdoors, so her new family should be prepared to help her learn all about living inside as a cherished pet. This may include introducing her to house training and all the sights and sounds of home life.
Poppy has never walked on a lead before, so this will be another new skill she will need to learn at her own pace, with lots of gentle encouragement and patience, first practicing in the garden to build confidence.
Poppy has so much potential to blossom into the most wonderful girl. If you have a peaceful home, a friendly resident dog, and the time and understanding to help her build her confidence, please consider offering Poppy the second chance she so deserves.
Poppy is a little overweight at the moment, but with a good diet and gentle exercise she will soon start to shed the excess.
