Gandolph
18-10-25 Lovely little Gandolph has come to us from a breeder to find his forever home. When he first arrived, he was a very scared boy who preferred to hide away and watch the world from a safe distance. With time, gentle care, and plenty of patience, he’s really starting to come out of his shell and what a cheeky little chappy he’s turning out to be!
Gandolph is still quite worried about people, but despite his nerves, he’s easy to handle and has a very sweet nature. He absolutely loves the company of other dogs and will need a kind and playful resident dog in his new home to help him gain confidence and show him the ropes of family life.
He adores his toys (perhaps a little too much!) and can sometimes be caught pinching them from his kennel friends, so any dogs in his new home will need to be happy to share with him.
As Gandolph has never lived in a home before, his new family will need to gently teach him all about house training and the joys of being a much-loved pet. He’s also starting to learn all about walking on a lead and harness, he’s doing so well but will need continued practice and encouragement as he gains confidence.
With love, patience, and plenty of TLC, Gandolph will continue to blossom into the happy, playful little dog he’s meant to be. He’s a special soul who truly deserves a kind and understanding forever home where he can finally feel safe and loved.
When Gandolph arrived, our vets noted that he was walking a little abnormally and so he was referred for x-rays, which were assessed by a specialist. The specialist noted that the femoral head on his right hind leg was an odd shape and slightly luxated and his distal femur has a varus deformity as well as a medial luxating patella. He isn't in any pain and gets around very well. The specialist has advised that this is monitored and doesn't recommend any surgery or treatment at this stage. Should he require any treatment in the future, it would not be covered by insurance and so for this reason he is by donation. He also has an undershot jaw, which doesn't bother him and was treated for a ear infection on arrival.
He has a travel document.
