  • Human family requirements

I’d be happy with dog-savvy older children who respect my space.

  • Other pet requirements

I could live with other dogs or be an only dog. I cannot live with cats.

  • House and garden requirements

I’m active and would love a large, secure garden to let off steam.

  • Out and about requirements

I have lots of energy and need an active home that loves adventures.

  • Training needs

I have never lived in a home so I will need help to learn house training.

  • Medical issues

I have dry eyes, please read below for more information about my health!

Dai is a wonderful 8-year-old Beagle whose journey has taken him from Spain to Wales and now into a foster home where he’s finally discovering what it means to be part of a family.

When Dai first arrived, he was full of curiosity and charm, quickly earning nicknames like “Cheeky Boy,” “Chonky Chops,” and even “Doorman Dai” thanks to the pride he takes in his little “SECURITY” harness! True to his breed, his nose is never far from the ground, and he approaches every new smell with enthusiasm and purpose.

Since moving into his foster home, Dai has blossomed beautifully. He’s shown himself to be a confident, clever boy who settled into home life almost instantly. He mastered house training in just a few days, sleeps soundly through the night, and takes all the usual household noises in his stride. He’s great with the resident dog and enjoys having canine company, though he’s also confident enough to be an only dog in the right home, provided he has plenty of love and attention.

Out and about, Dai is a joy to walk, he’s brilliant on the lead and loves nothing more than following his nose on new adventures. He’s a sociable lad who’s happy meeting other dogs, though he can be a little unsure of some larger breeds and spaniels. City life doesn’t faze him at all, he’s relaxed in traffic, busy areas, and even pubs, where he’ll happily curl up and watch the world go by.

At home, Dai’s favourite pastime (aside from sniffing out snacks!) is curling up in his favourite chair and snoring away after a long walk. He would suit a home where someone is around for most of the day, as he’s still learning that being left alone is okay, but with time and reassurance, he’ll continue to grow in confidence.

Dai has ongoing dry eye which will need lifelong treatment, but this doesn’t stop him from enjoying life to the fullest.

This charming, fun-loving boy is a true character. full of warmth, mischief, and love. After everything he’s been through, Dai is ready to find his forever family who will cherish him for the wonderful companion he is.
