I am deaf and have limited vision, but this doesn't slow me down!

30-07-25 Una was born here at Many Tears after we rescued her lovely mum, Ember (a poodle cross). In those first precious days, four others and I shared the joy and responsibility of caring for the litter, but after a week and a half, I took over and hand-raised Una and her siblings full-time. From then on, Una became my little shadow, and a huge piece of my heart. Una is deaf and has limited sight, but you wouldn’t know it from the way she barrels through life with spunk and joy. She was born all white but has grown into the most stunning little pup with a brown patch across her right eye and a unique nose that makes her look like the special girl she is. Her differences don’t hold her back, they just make her more extraordinary. She’s cheeky, confident, and full of sass. She LOVES her toys, shoes (especially mine), and has a particular obsession with my ponytail. Playtime can get a bit wild; Una doesn’t quite realise how strong she is, and her siblings (especially Monopoly) have had to tell her off a few times!

Now let me tell you about those Velcro paws. Una is a climber, determined, focused, and just a little bit naughty. Once she sets her mind on a “mission,” she will quite literally stick to you, climb, wiggle, and cling until she’s reached her chosen destination (usually somewhere she’s not supposed to be). She’s hilariously persistent and will always find a way, whether that’s into your arms or onto your shoulder like a tiny goat-dog hybrid. She adores her food, but I’ve been very careful with how and what I’ve fed her to make sure she grows strong and healthy. She also lives for bath time and prances like a princess when the hairdryer’s on, honestly, it’s like watching a tiny supermodel on a runway. Something I would really love for Una is for her to have a resident doggy friend in her new home, someone she can learn from and most of all play with. She’s used to constant company, and the adjustment may take time, but this little girl is brave and resilient, and with the right love and guidance, I know she’ll find her paws.

Una needs someone who sees her the way I do: not as a puppy with limitations, but as a clever, curious, determined, and incredibly lovable little girl who just needs the right support. She’s going to need a very special family, you must have experience with deaf and blind dogs, someone who can give her structure, training, and endless love. Puppy classes will be essential, as well as a true commitment to helping her learn house rules and make good choices as she grows. Letting her go will break my heart, but I know the right home is out there for her. So if you think you can give Una the world, please get in touch. She’s already filled mine with so much joy.

Una's adopters will need to have her spayed when she is old enough and commit to enrolling her in puppy training and socialization classes to help her grow into a well-rounded adult dog.

With love,

Una's foster mammy.
