Edna
Edna has come to us from a breeder and is now looking for a very special forever home. She is a very scared little girl who is currently overwhelmed by everything around her. At the moment, Edna will do her best to run and hide from us, she is not used to being handled and finds human interaction very frightening.
Edna is very playful, and she absolutely loves running around the play yard chasing a ball. She doesn’t know what to do with it, but she still has so much fun. She also loves her food and gets very happy around meal times. She’s still not confident enough to take a treat from us yet, but if we throw them on the floor near us, she will come and get them.
This sweet soul is in desperate need of gentle TLC, patience, and understanding. She will need a calm, quiet, adult-only home where she can settle in at her own pace, with no pressure or expectations. Her adopters will need to give her the time and space she needs to learn that people can be kind and that love can be safe, and she would benefit from adopters with experience of scared ex-breeding dogs.
Edna finds comfort in the company of other dogs, and it is essential that her new home has at least one other kind and confident resident dog who can take her under their wing. A steady canine friend will be a vital part of her journey, helping her feel more secure and showing her how to navigate life in a home.
As she has never lived in a home before, Edna will need to learn all about house training and home life. She has never walked on a lead and will need to begin learning in a secure garden where she can safely explore at her own pace until she gains confidence to venture further afield.
Despite her worries, she is such a lovely girl, and it's going to be so rewarding to see her reach new milestones for the first time.
Edna had a hernia repaired at the time of her spay, which did re-open a few days later but has been checked by our vet and no further action is required.
