  • Human family requirements

I need a calm and quiet, adult only home where I can settle in at my own pace.

  • Other pet requirements

I will need a kind resident dog to take me under their wing. I have never met cats.

  • House and garden requirements

I need a secure garden, with high fences.

  • Out and about requirements

I haven't tried walks just yet and will find this a bit overwhelming at the moment.

  • Training needs

I need to learn house training, but I walk well on a lead!

  • Medical issues

I am underweight and so am being fed little and often to build me up.

Orchid’s journey has been a long one. She was rescued from a home in heartbreaking conditions, where her elderly owner, struggling with mental health challenges, was overwhelmed. Though never intentionally mistreated, Orchid and the other dogs went without the care and attention they deserved. Now safe with us, she’s finally experiencing love, stability, and the gentle care she’s always needed.

When Orchid first arrived, she was shy, wary, and uncertain of human touch. She had never known the comfort of a home or gentle companionship. But step by step, she has blossomed. Today, she greets us with a wiggly tail, gentle kisses, and happily leans into affection. She has a sweet love for squeezy cheese, which helped build her trust, but it’s her soft, trusting heart that shines through most of all.

Orchid is a beautiful, large girl with a playful, happy character. She loves her toys, carries them around proudly, and even shares them politely with other dogs. She has learned to walk on a lead gracefully, especially when she has a confident canine companion by her side, and she met some smaller dogs recently with absolute charm and politeness, allowing them to play with her toy and showing just how kind and considerate she is.

This wonderful girl is looking for a calm, patient, adult-only home where she can settle in at her own pace. She thrives with other kind and confident dogs to guide her, and in a secure garden where she can practice new skills and enjoy gentle walks. Orchid is still learning about life inside a home, including house training and lead walking, but with love and patience, she will flourish into the devoted, joyful companion she was always meant to be.

Orchid has made remarkable progress from the wary girl we first met. She is playful, loving, and full of personality, her kennel daddy even calls her one of his secret favourites! She deserves a forever home where she can feel safe, cherished, and truly at peace.

Applications are now open for Orchid. She will be ready to go to her new home once she has completed her ongoing veterinary care, and we cannot wait to see her continue to bloom in the loving family she so deeply deserves.
