Delores
Delores is a truly special little lady who has made remarkable progress since going into foster. When she first arrived, she was nervous and overwhelmed by the world, often darting away if approached. With patience, love, and the guidance of her foster home, Delores has blossomed into a confident, happy, and affectionate little dog.
Today, Delores is a completely different girl then who she was when she arrived. She is confident in the house and garden, comfortable with doorways, and no longer skittish or likely to bolt. She enjoys attention and will happily approach for cuddles, kisses, and fuss. She lets her foster parent bathe, groom, and dress her with coats and harnesses, though she is still building trust with other family members, but she is curious and friendly with visitors, greeting them with wagging tails and even taking treats.
Delores absolutely adores her walks. She gets excited when her harness and lead come out and walks beautifully on the lead, sticking close to her person without any desire to chase squirrels or run off. She has enjoyed outings in new places, including a lovely day along the Weymouth seafront, and takes all the sights, sounds, and people in her stride. She thrives on the company of other small dogs, which gives her comfort and confidence.
Delores has had a couple of seizures in the past, which are now being managed successfully with twice-daily medication. Since starting treatment, she has had no further fits, and her foster family is hopeful that this will be all she needs. Because of this, she will need to be rehomed with other small dogs who can offer her stability and reassurance.
This little lady is a bundle of joy, she is affectionate, sweet, and full of personality. She deserves a calm, patient, and loving home where she can continue to grow in confidence and be part of a family that understands her gentle nature. Delores may be small, but she has the biggest heart and is ready to bring endless happiness to her forever home.
