Dime
Dime’s story is one of quiet courage. This sweet little Puggle came to us from a breeder, carrying with her a lifetime of uncertainty. When she first arrived, human interaction felt overwhelming, and she wasn’t sure what kindness meant. Gentle voices and patient hands were all new to her, and she needed time to simply feel safe.
What has always brought Dime comfort is the company of other dogs. While she can still be shy with people, she lights up in the presence of her canine companions, they are her reassurance, her support system, and her guides to a happier life. For this reason, Dime will need a home with friendly, confident resident dogs who can show her the ropes and help her continue to grow in confidence.
In recent weeks, Dime has begun to let her gentle heart shine through. Though still a timid little lady, she now accepts a soft fuss when she feels safe, a huge step forward for her. Seeing her relax into a kind touch is a reminder of just how much potential she has when given patience and love.
As Dime has never lived in a home before, everything, from house training to lead walking will be brand new. Her adopters will need to go slowly, giving her time to adjust to all the sights, sounds, and rhythms of family life. A very secure garden is essential, both for her safety and to give her space to practice wearing a harness and start taking her first steps forward.
Her ideal family will be calm, gentle, and experienced with the needs of nervous ex-breeding dogs. They will understand that progress may be slow, but that every milestone, every wag, every step closer, every moment of trust will be all the more precious for it.
Dime has already overcome so much, including surgery for a large inguinal hernia and a dental extraction, and she is now ready for the next part of her journey. However, Dime's inguinal hernia has re-occurred and she is scheduled for surgery to have it repaired. With the right home, patient hearts, and the support of her canine friends, this delicate girl will continue to blossom into the happy, trusting companion we know she’s destined to be.
Dime has had a large inguinal hernia repaired at the time of spay and 1 upper incisor tooth extracted.
