07-08-25 Reginald is a beautiful soul who has come to us through no fault of his own, and his story is truly heartbreaking. Once rescued from a home where he was not treated kindly, he found safety and unconditional love with a very special person who turned his world around. That love helped shape him into the trusting, affectionate boy we see today. Sadly, his beloved owner is now terminally ill and can no longer care for him and so, Reginald finds himself grieving and confused, desperately missing the person who was his whole world.

Reginald is the kind of dog who gives his whole heart. He adores cuddles, especially in the evenings and wants nothing more than to curl up beside someone who makes him feel safe. He’s clean in the house (though may need gentle reminders in a new environment), walks nicely on a lead, and isn’t fussy about where he sleeps, he’ll happily doze off anywhere, often with a good snore for company! He’s an easy-going boy who takes everything in his stride, though he’ll sometimes surprise you with a burst of playful rough-and-tumble when he’s feeling cheeky. He also loves his treats, and his soft eyes and wagging tail will quickly melt your heart.

Reginald has lived happily with a young child and, because of his gentle nature, we would consider rehoming him with dog-savvy children. He hasn't been around many other dogs, so we are slowly and carefully introducing him here and continuing to assess his needs. That said, he’d be more than happy as the only dog in the home, soaking up all the love and attention just for himself.

He’s not destructive when left alone but would really prefer a home where someone is around most of the time, especially while he adjusts. He has no issues with men, but he’s definitely a bit of a ladies' man and forms a very strong bond with women in particular.

This boy doesn’t want to be in rescue. He’s grieving, but still full of love to give. If you can offer him a warm lap, a kind word, and a forever home, please don’t make him wait too long. Reginald is ready to love again, he just needs someone to love him back.
