Berrie
13-08-25 Berrie is a superstar of a Cocker who has come to us from her breeder in search of a family to call her own.
She’s doing her best to be brave, but she’s not quite as confident as she’d like to be just yet. Berrie gets very excited when she sees us and will bounce happily around the play area, though she’s not quite ready to approach on her own. As you can see from her photos, she rarely stays still for long!
Right now, Berrie is finding comfort in the company of her kennel friends, so we feel she would be best rehomed with another dog for support and companionship. That said, we’ll keep assessing her confidence while she’s with us to see if she could adapt to life as an only dog.
As she has never lived in a home before, Berrie will need to learn all about housetraining, lead walking, and other basics of home life. She’s made some progress with lead walking here at the rescue, but this will need to continue in a safe, secure garden before heading out and about.
Berrie experienced a seizure while in our care and is being monitored by our vets. However, we do believe that this may have been caused by the stress of coming into kennels. Blood tests show all parameters are normal, so monitoring will continue for any further seizures.
Thanks to her outgoing nature, Berrie will make a fantastic companion for the right home as her confidence begins to show.
