Dana is a gentle little Pugalier who has come to us from a breeder to begin her brand-new life. When she first arrived, she was a very nervous and shut-down girl who didn’t quite know what to make of people or this strange new world. But with patience, kindness, and the comfort of her canine friends, Dana has begun to show us the sweet, loving girl she truly is.

After spending a few weeks in her foster home, Dana is really starting to come out of her shell. She has such a kind, gentle nature and a waggy little tail that she’s beginning to use more often now that she feels safe. She loves spending time with the other dogs, both big and small, and takes great comfort in their company. She’ll need at least one kind, confident resident dog in her forever home to help guide her and show her that life can be wonderful.

Dana is learning all about home life and is doing brilliantly. Her house training is going well, and she’s happily fitted into her foster family’s routine, following the other dogs into the garden for a sniff and a potter about. She’s even started walking on a lead, first in the garden, and now enjoying gentle walks where she can take in all the new smells. Sometimes her confidence wobbles, and she still likes to be carried for reassurance, but she’s making wonderful progress at her own pace.

She sleeps quietly through the night with the other dogs and can be left for short periods without worry. Dana isn’t living with children at the moment and would prefer a calm, quiet home, though she may be okay with older, dog-savvy children who can give her space and move gently around her.

Health-wise, Dana has a Grade 2 heart murmur that isn’t causing her any problems, and she also has some cloudiness in her eye lenses, both of which will need to be monitored by her new family. She is currently a little overweight, so her adopters will need to help her manage this through a healthy diet and gentle exercise as her confidence continues to grow.

Dana has settled beautifully into home life and is blossoming more with each passing day. She’s a perfect little mix of Cavalier and Pug, loving, gentle, loyal, and quietly full of character. She’s learning what it means to be loved, and it’s a joy to see her discovering the world with new confidence.

With time, patience, and the companionship of another kind dog, Dana will continue to flourish. She’s ready now to find her forever family, one who will cherish her gentle heart and give her the happy, peaceful home she has always deserved.
