  • Human family requirements

I need a quiet home where I won’t be overwhelmed while I settle in at my own pace.

  • Other pet requirements

I need a resident dog to help me feel safe but I haven’t met cats yet so I'm not sure

  • House and garden requirements

I’m still shy, so I will need a secure garden while I get used to my new home.

  • Out and about requirements

Walks are too scary for me yet, maybe some slow garden sniffs will be a good start.

  • Training needs

Please be patient with me, I'm nervous and learning everything from scratch.

  • Medical issues

Please read below for more information about my health!

Isla is a gentle little lady who came to us from a breeder and is slowly finding her paws in this big new world. When she first arrived, she was very unsure of human interactions and would watch us with worried eyes, not always certain of our intentions. With patience and gentle care, her sweet nature is beginning to shine through, and she is getting braver every day.

She isn’t quite ready to ask for fuss just yet, but she now greets us with a waggy tail and will happily come over to give hand sniffs. This is a big step forward for Isla, and with time, love, and reassurance, she will continue to grow in confidence and learn that human hands can bring comfort and kindness.

Isla enjoys the company of other dogs and loves to socialise, so she will need a kind and confident resident dog in her forever home. A canine companion will not only give her comfort but also help guide her through the many “firsts” she still has to experience. She is already practising her harness training, and although she still has a way to go, she is making steady progress. Like many dogs from her background, she will also need gentle introductions to house training and the basics of home life.

Isla came to us with ear infections and bilateral lip-fold dermatitis, both of which she has been receiving treatment for. With the right care, these conditions are manageable and should not hold her back. Our vets also detected a Grade 1 heart murmur, and she previously had a hernia repaired at her original spay site.

Life with Isla will need to go at her pace, with adopters who understand that patience and compassion are key. In return, she will reward her new family with the quiet joy of watching her transform into a loving, loyal, and very special companion.

Isla has a travel document.
