Ivy
Sweet Ivy has been with us for some time now, and watching her journey has brought both happy tears and so much pride. This little girl arrived nervous and unsure from a breeder, but day by day she’s been stitching herself back together with courage, trust, and quiet determination. She may always have a sensitive heart, but the progress she’s made is nothing short of beautiful.
Ivy has blossomed into a gentle, affectionate soul who is finally beginning to believe that humans can be kind. She now walks beautifully on the lead, eager to head out of her kennel for little adventures. She can still get a bit spooked, but with calm reassurance she quickly finds her confidence again. In the yard, she loves spending time with her doggy friends, sharing beds, exploring, and even eating nearby, which once felt impossible for her. Every small victory feels huge when you’ve seen how far she’s come.
She adores fuss and affection, though sometimes she still needs a moment to be sure everything is safe. Ivy has had a few ear infections and some lip fold dermatitis, and because of this she can be a little head shy. But with patience, routine, and a gentle touch, she relaxes beautifully, she’s fantastic for grooming and is happy for baths, drying, and brushing.
What Ivy needs now more than anything is a calm, loving home where she can continue to flourish. A kind, confident resident dog is essential for her, someone she can follow, learn from, and lean on when the world feels a bit too big. She will need a patient, adult-only environment where her humans understand that trust is built slowly, softly, and with love.
Ivy has a heart full of sweetness, playfulness, and quiet devotion. She is still learning to fully let her guard down, but she desperately wants to love and be loved. With the right family, she will blossom into the loyal, gentle companion she has always wanted to be.
Ivy came to us a little overweight and will need a careful diet to help her reach a healthy weight, but she’s well on her way. She also has minor cataracts in both eyes which do not affect her vision or her daily life.
Ivy has a travel document.
