18-10-25 Java is a very scared little Yorkshire Terrier who originally came to us from a breeder a few months ago. She was adopted briefly, but was returned as her adopters felt she wasn't settling in and wasn't the right match for them.

Java is now in a foster home, where she is settling in very well and starting to come out of her shell. She is still a nervous girl who is in need of lots of TLC and kindness as she starts to leave her past behind her. She's quite wary of being touched and handled but she does sit still and allows her fosterer to pick her up.

Java will be looking for a calm and quiet, adult only home with adopters who have experience with scared ex-breeding dogs and where she can settle in at her own pace. Although we haven't experienced it here or in foster, we are told that she did nip in her adopted home, but we think that this was due to fear and feeling overwhelmed.

Java loves other dogs and will need at least one other kind and confident resident dog in her new home to help her settle in and adjust to her new life. This will also help her grow in confidence as they will copy what they do and it will help them realise that human hands can be kind.

She had never lived in a home prior to arriving with us, so is still adjusting to all the sights and sounds of home life and will need kindness and understanding as she settles in and learns new skills like house training. She doesn't yet walk on a lead and will need to practice in a secure garden until she builds confidence to venture further.

With time, understanding, and a little help from a doggy friend, this gentle girl has every chance to blossom into a wonderful, devoted companion.

Jave had one tooth extracted at the time of her spay and she has a travel document.
