22-08-25 Meet Toby. A Little Dog With a Big Broken Heart 

This is Toby. He’s a three year old Chihuahua whose world has been turned upside down. Toby’s whole life was spent devoted to his daddy, he snuggled beside him, sleeping in his bed, and being his shadow. Sadly, his beloved owner became ill and has now passed away. Since then, Toby has been passed between family members who tried to keep him safe, but their homes weren’t suitable long-term. Through it all, Toby has coped as best he can, but his little heart is broken. 

Despite everything, Toby is such a good boy. He:

• Walks beautifully on a lead
• Is fine with other dogs (he even enjoyed the company of a playful little one)
• Isn’t used to children, so a quieter, adult only home would be best
• Could live happily with a gentle female dog, or be an only dog with all the love to himself.

He hasn’t had much experience with cats. When he’s seen them, he’s barked, but we don’t know if that’s curiosity or dislike.

Toby is aloof at first and who could blame him, after losing the person he adored? But deep down he’s just a little soul waiting for someone new to show him that love isn’t gone forever. 

These tiny dogs don’t understand why their world suddenly changes. They grieve, they ache, they wait. Toby needs someone patient and kind, someone who will let him take his time, someone who can give him back what he’s lost, a bed to share with his person (before he shared his dads bed always). Arms to cuddle into, and a heart that will never let him go again.
