Ted is a very handsome boy who is looking for his forever home. Poor little Ted has been through a lot in his life so far. He started life small and cute, and everyone wanted him. But as he grew older, his luck began to fade. For four years, Ted knew love. He lived happily in a static caravan with an elderly gentleman who adored him, but sadly he had very little socialisation and didn't get to experience much beyond his caravan. This caused him to become very anxious when meeting new people and so he would bark and could snap out of fear if someone tried to touch him.

Then when his owner sadly passed away, Ted’s world was turned upside down. From there, life took a difficult turn. He was taken in by someone who thought that using an electric collar would “fix” his behaviour. Unsurprisingly, it didn’t help and instead left Ted even more confused and unsettled. Eventually, he was facing the unthinkable: being put to sleep for problems that humans had created. Thankfully, Ted was given another chance and is now at Many Tears.

Ted's Best Bits

Ted is bursting with personality. He’s playful, energetic, and absolutely devoted to the people he knows and trusts. Once you’re in his circle, you’ll see just how loyal, loving, and full of joy he can be. He’ll do anything for his favourite people and is a true cuddle monster.

Ted's Challenges

Ted struggles with strangers. When faced with unfamiliar people, his fear takes over, and he reacts defensively to protect himself. On the lead, he can seem intimidating to those who don’t understand him. But with patience, understanding, and the right handling, Ted’s true, affectionate nature shines through.

Ted is looking for a calm and quiet, adult only home with adopters who have experience with dogs with similar behaviours to Ted and who will be willing to work with him and will never let him down. Once he trusts you, he is a wonderful boy who loves to sit on your lap, enjoys cuddles, and will happily give you kisses.

Ted absolutely loves other dogs and will need a kind resident dog in the home he can rely on as he settles in. He enjoys his walks, walks nicely on the lead, and travels well in the car. He is very fond of his crate, which he uses as his safe space. He cannot be homed with cats.

If you think you can help Ted leave his past behind him, then please consider putting in an adoption application form.
