Pheobe
Phoebe is an absolute sweetheart and a gentle lady who has captured everyone’s hearts. She came to us from a breeder and has shown herself to be a calm, affectionate girl who brings a soothing presence wherever she goes. Phoebe has a special way of making people feel at ease, and her quiet charm is impossible to resist.
Phoebe has now been with us for almost six months and, as many people already know from her profile, she truly is a darling girl. She has settled beautifully during her time here and continues to thrive, enjoying calmer days filled with cuddles and attention from her kennel mums and volunteers. Phoebe is the type of dog who doesn’t demand the spotlight, yet somehow quietly steals your heart without you even realising.
Since arriving in our care, Phoebe underwent BOAS surgery and a nasal wedge resection to help her breathe more comfortably, and she recovered beautifully. She also had a small lump removed from the side of her leg and has continued to do very well following her procedures. During her recovery she was fed in an elevated position, which she decided was a great new game, and her gentle, affectionate nature has continued to shine through as she has grown stronger and more settled.
Phoebe walks beautifully on lead and enjoys heading out daily with our volunteers for gentle strolls. She loves to take her time exploring the world around her with plenty of sniffs along the way. She certainly isn’t built for marathon adventures, but relaxed potters and quiet outings suit her perfectly.
Phoebe would ideally like a home where she can be the only dog, allowing her to soak up all the love and attention she truly deserves. She also cannot live with cats or small furries. She could live with older children or teenagers who understand her calm nature and can cope with the occasional burst of typical bulldog enthusiasm when she gets excited. A secure garden would be ideal for her to potter, explore, and enjoy life at her own pace.
Phoebe does have some ongoing health considerations. These include a possible inguinal hernia, a small lump to be assessed at the time of her spay, sensitive skin, and a slightly inflamed bladder, all of which are being carefully monitored and managed by our veterinary team. She also experienced one seizure while in our care but has remained stable since. Phoebe will also need her lip folds and ears checked and cleaned regularly to help keep her comfortable.
Phoebe’s sweet disposition, calm confidence, and loving nature make her a truly special girl. She is now more than ready to begin the next chapter of her life in a home where she will be cherished and adored. In return, Phoebe promises loyalty, the best cuddles, and a lifetime of unconditional love to the family lucky enough to call her their own.
