Jess is a beautiful, affectionate girl who has made huge progress since coming to us in October. She originally came from a loving home, and was briefly adopted again, but returned when her worries and insecurities became apparent. Jess is now ready for a patient, understanding forever home that can continue to support her confidence.

Since arriving, Jess has gained confidence and lost some much needed weight. She is now full of energy, enjoys her playtime in the adventure yard, and has a playful, affectionate personality once she trusts someone. She loves fuss and attention and will happily interact with people she knows, though she can be wary of strangers at first.

Jess walks on a lead and enjoys her walks, although she can be strong at times and may lunge if startled. She knows basic commands like sit, wait, paw, and here, and responds well to treats. She is largely kennel clean and settles well when in a routine. Jess currently lives with another dog; she can take time to warm up to new dogs but generally does well once comfortable. She is very people-focused and could live as an only dog or with a calm, friendly companion but no cats!

Jess will need a calm, adult-only home with patient owners who can continue to work on her confidence, walking, and harness training. She doesn’t like being left alone for long periods and will thrive in a home where someone is around most of the time.

With patience and consistency, Jess will be a loyal, loving companion and make a wonderful addition to the right home.
