  • Human family requirements

I need an experienced adult-only home where I can feel safe and loved.

  • Other pet requirements

I would prefer to be an only dog, but could live with another. I haven't met cats.

  • House and garden requirements

I’m active and would love a large, secure garden to let off steam.

  • Out and about requirements

I can walk well on a lead and would love an active home.

  • Training needs

I have never lived in a home so I will need help to learn house training.

  • Medical issues

I am neutered and ready to find my forever home!

Rex originally came to us from a breeder and was adopted for a short period of time. Sadly, he was returned after displaying some behaviours in the home that we were previously unaware of. Rex began to show signs of resource guarding and, during one incident, reacted to a situation involving a member of the household which resulted in a bite. He was also uncomfortable with people coming in and out of doors, which made home life challenging for him.

Rex will now need an experienced, adult-only home with no children or visiting children and with people who can understand his needs and are committed to helping him learn and feel secure. He will benefit from calm, consistent boundaries and patient, positive guidance as he builds confidence.

He walks beautifully on the lead and would thrive in an active home that can offer him plenty of mental and physical stimulation to keep his clever mind busy. His really enjoys going on long walks and one of his favourite things is getting to run off lead in our play yard.

Before adoption Rex had never lived in a home, so he will need to learn all about home life and new skills like house training.

Rex would be happy to be homed as an only dog and we think that he may prefer this. He can be particular with which dogs he gets along with, but in the right circumstances he could be homed with another calm, confident resident dog who can help him feel more relaxed and settled.

This handsome boy has so much potential and simply needs the right, understanding person who can give him structure, reassurance, and time. With patience and kindness, Rex will have the chance to flourish and become the loving, loyal companion we know he can be.
