Ezra
03-11-25 Ezra has come to us from a breeder to find his forever home. He was very briefly adopted, but sadly he displayed some behaviours in the home that we hadn’t seen here in kennels, so he has been returned to us to find a more suitable home.
Ezra is a very sweet and affectionate lad who, once he knows you, loves nothing more than cuddles and sitting on your lap. However, he can be wary of some people and did growled and nip in his previous home. Because of this, Ezra will need an adult-only home with experienced adopters who can give him the time, understanding, and guidance he needs to build his confidence and work through his worries. Ezra has been going home with a staff member for assessment and hasn't displayed any of these behaviours with her and has been like a typical young dog and is a joy to have around.
Ezra will need at least one other kind and confident resident dog in his new home to be his friend and show him the ropes, as he finds comfort and reassurance in the company of other dogs. Ezra is in a foster home with a cat and so could be homed with a dog savvy cat.
Out on walks, Ezra is generally good on the lead, though he can bark at larger dogs. His adopters will need to continue gentle, positive training to help him improve in this area. Having never lived in a home before, everything about home life is still new to him, so he’ll need patient adopters who can help him learn about house training and home life.
Ezra bonds quickly with his people and is happy to settle when left alone in the home. However, if he knows you’re in another room but can’t reach you, he may howl or cry, so his adopters will need to work on this gradually with reassurance and consistency.
Ezra is looking for a special home where he will be understood and given the chance to grow in confidence at his own pace. With time, patience, and love, we’re sure that Ezra will reward his family with the most wonderful companionship and loyalty.
Could you be the one to give Ezra the understanding home he needs and the happy ending he truly deserves?
