Jolly
Jolly is a gentle, loving girl who came to us from a breeder and is still learning to build her confidence in the world. She can be shy and easily overwhelmed in new situations, but once she gets to know you, her sweet and affectionate nature shines through.
Since settling into her foster home, Jolly has made wonderful progress. She has been there just two weeks and has fitted into home life beautifully, quickly learning the household routine. She toilets outside around 95% of the time, and any accidents happen by the back door, showing she’s really trying. She now comes in from the garden when called and happily waits for her reward. Jolly greets her foster mummy with a waggy tail every day and especially at mealtimes, although she does prefer to eat separately where she feels more comfortable.
She adores comfort and claimed the bed as her spot from her second night in the home. She enjoys being picked up, stroked, and fussed, and is a very gentle and easy dog to have around.
She takes great reassurance from other dogs and will need a kind, confident resident dog in her new home to help her continue building trust. Jolly has never lived in a home before foster, so she still needs adopters who can be patient and supportive as she continues to learn about house training, routines, and new experiences.
Jolly has recently started visiting secure fields and now joins her foster's dogs in the queue to have her coat and harness put on. She is still a beginner with lead walking but is improving every day. In quiet areas, she trots along happily, taking in new smells and sights. However, if she sees unfamiliar people in the distance, she becomes too nervous to continue, so she will need a calm, peaceful home in a quiet location to help her build confidence gradually.
She has settled remarkably well into home life and has so much love to offer. She truly deserves a calm, understanding home with plenty of time, patience, and affection.
If you have a quiet household and a kind resident dog to guide her, Jolly would love the chance to spend her first Christmas in a loving home of her own.
