Raya
29-10-25 Raya is a gorgeous and gentle lady who has come to us through no fault of her own. It’s clear to see that she’s in desperate need of some TLC as she’s severely underweight and her skin is in very poor condition. When she first arrived, she was frail, confused, and unsure, but she’s doing her best to take this new chapter in stride.
According to her previous owners, Raya is wonderful with children of all ages and was raised in a family home. She can be a little vocal when she’s feeling stressed, which is completely understandable given all she’s been through, with time, love, and reassurance, she’ll learn that she’s safe again.
Raya is an affectionate, cuddly girl who loves to snuggle up next to her person. She’s good with people, eager to please, and already knows some basic commands like “sit” and “wait.” Her previous owners shared that she often slept in bed with her humans or wherever she felt most comfortable. She loves to go out for walks and would love to go on plenty of adventures once she has built her strength up.
Raya will need a secure, high-fenced garden, as she has shown herself to be quite the escape artist when left alone for long periods with access to the outdoors. She takes treats gently, which is great news, as she’ll be enjoying plenty as part of her recovery.
Having lived in a home before, Raya may already know some of the basics, but her adopters will need to be patient and kind while she settles in and adjusts. She has allergies to fish, lamb, and dairy, and will be on a special hearty diet to help her gain weight. Her adopters will need to be aware of this as they will need to continue to monitor her allergies and skin irritations. She’s also receiving treatment for her skin which will need to continued in her home.
Raya truly is a loving soul who deserves a second chance at happiness, a safe, warm home, and a family who will show her the care and comfort she’s missed. With the right home, she’s sure to blossom into the wonderful companion she’s meant to be.
Raya is now looking for her forever home and will be accepting applications. However, as she is currently undergoing treatment, she will continue to be assessed by our vets and will not be ready for adoption until she is healthy enough to do so.
