Maverick is a lovely, affectionate boy who has come to us from a breeder and is ready to find his forever home. When he first arrived, he was shy and a little overwhelmed, but after just over three weeks with us, he has come on leaps and bounds. The gentle, shy boy we first met is now showing glimpses of a cheeky, playful personality hidden beneath all that fluff!

Maverick is incredibly clever, but his intelligence sometimes comes with a streak of stubbornness, he finds it amusing to bounce around instead of returning to his kennel, keeping his kennel parents on their toes. Despite this, he has settled well into routine and has taken to walking on a lead beautifully. He is gentle and soft with his kennel friend, showing patience and kindness to a dog who is a little shyer than him.

He loves a fuss and is happiest receiving gentle affection. His beautiful face at the kennel door and his brave attitude during eye drops make him such a joy to have around. Maverick is still a little wary of strangers, but with patience and gentle reassurance, he is slowly learning to trust more widely.

Maverick will need a calm and understanding home where he can continue to build his confidence at his own pace. A kind, confident resident dog would be ideal to guide him and show him that the world isn’t such a scary place. As he has never lived in a home before, he will need patient adopters to help him learn everyday skills such as house training and walking safely on a lead.

Our vets have noted that Maverick has corneal ulcers in both eyes, which are currently being treated, and he may also have entropion. He has scarring from previous ulcers that has caused slight vision impairment, but he navigates his surroundings well. He is currently being treated for a mild infection and continues to manage his eye care bravely.

With love, patience, and understanding, Maverick will blossom into a loyal, joyful, and affectionate companion. Could you be the one to give this brave, clever boy his forever home?

Maverick has a travel document.
