October
October has come to us from a breeder and is now patiently waiting for the loving forever home she so truly deserves. When she first arrived, she was very overwhelmed by her new surroundings and understandably unsure of people, having had very little handling in her past. With time and gentle care, October has begun to show us just how special she is.
October can still be wary when meeting new people and may initially back away and bark, but once she has had the chance to settle and observe at her own pace, her confidence grows. When she begins to trust, her personality really shines through and she becomes a very happy girl, wagging her tail constantly and seeking out gentle fuss from those she knows. It is incredibly rewarding to see her blossom as she realises that she is safe.
She can now walk quite well on a lead and harness and is enjoying going on walks. October has never lived in a home before, so her adopters will need to help her learn about house training, routines, and all the comforts of family life at a pace that suits her.
October will need a calm, quiet, adult-only home with adopters who have experience with ex-breeding dogs and understand the importance of patience and consistency. She must live with at least one kind, confident resident dog who can guide her and help build her confidence. While she is happy to eat around other dogs and will share her bed, she is not keen on sharing her toys, so her canine companion will need to respect her boundaries.
October could share her home with older, dog-savvy teenagers aged 16 and over, who can appreciate and understand that she will need a gentle, quiet introduction to the home and her own space to settle in.
She has a very sweet, gentle nature and is easy to handle once she feels safe. October is currently a little overweight, but with appropriate nutrition and gentle exercise this is already improving. She has had one tooth removed at the time of her spay and is receiving treatment for dermatitis in her lip folds. She is receiving treatment for a ear infection currently. October also has a travel document.
October is a truly stunning girl with so much character, and it’s clear she has so much joy to offer the right family. She is wasted in kennel life and longs for a home where she can continue to grow in confidence and finally experience the love she has missed out on. With patience, understanding, and the support of another dog, October will make a deeply rewarding and devoted companion.
October has a travel document.
