Felicity
Felicity is a gorgeous lady with a heart that is still finding its way to trust. She has come to us from a breeder and, like so many ex-breeding dogs, she hasn’t had the chance to know what it means to be loved and cherished. Her soul is a little broken, but she is trying her very best to be brave every single day.
Felicity is fearful but submissive. She may initially try to run away, but when she is in a safe, enclosed space, she will calm down and allow gentle fuss, a soft stroke, and a little bit of love. These small moments are precious glimpses of the affectionate, trusting companion she has the potential to be. It is clear that Felicity relies heavily on her fellow dogs for reassurance and comfort, she feels safest snuggled up with her kennel friends under a heat lamp in the cold weather, sharing warmth and security. Because of this, she will need a kind, confident resident dog in her new home to guide her, help her feel safe, and show her the world can be a happy, gentle place.
Felicity has never lived in a home before, so she will need understanding adopters who are patient and experienced with nervous, ex-breeding dogs. She will need time to learn home basics such as house training, lead walking, and the everyday sights, sounds, and routines of home life. In the right environment, quiet, calm, and consistent, Felicity has the potential to blossom beautifully.
When she is out in the yard, Felicity shows a spark of the happy, playful girl she can be. She runs around with her kennel friends, wagging her tail, and exploring with curiosity. Even in the cold weather, she allows gentle handling, enjoys wearing a little jumper to stay warm, and shows small but meaningful signs of trust in humans.
Felicity carries a little extra weight, which we are helping her manage with a suitable diet and gentle exercise. She has also shown some discomfort with her paw, which our vets are monitoring to keep her as comfortable as possible.
This little lady just needs someone willing to take a chance, to open their heart slowly, and to let her come forward at her own pace. With patience, love, and a calm, understanding home, and a resident dog to guide her, Felicity will reveal the beautiful, loyal, and loving soul she has always been deep down. She is ready to shine, and the right person will be rewarded with a devoted, gentle companion for life.
She has a PETS travel document.
