Peli’s story is one that truly breaks your heart but shows just how resilient and loving dogs can be. This beautiful boy originally came to us from Romania back in 2021 after surviving something truly awful. He was found tied up inside a bag that had been dumped in a village and that bag had been there for four long days before a kind lady saw it move and discovered little Peli inside. Despite such a cruel start, Peli never lost his gentle spirit or his trust in people.

After arriving with us back in 2021, Peli was lucky enough to find a loving home where he finally knew kindness and comfort. Sadly, his adopter has become very unwell and can no longer care for him, so Peli has found himself back in need once more. He had been placed in a boarding kennel where he was sadly at risk of being put to sleep, but thankfully he is now safe with us again and ready for a fresh start.

Peli is an incredibly handsome boy who is understandably very confused and heartbroken to find himself back here after knowing what it means to be loved. He adores people and is wonderfully affectionate, he soaks up cuddles and attention and will make the most loyal, loving companion. He’s also a clever lad who knows how to sit and walks nicely on the lead.

Peli is confident enough that he could be homed as an only dog. We were told that he wasn't too keen on other dogs and if a dog reacts to him on a walk, he will bark back. He cannot live with cats or small furries. He has lived in a home before, so we believe he’s house trained, though he may need a little reminding at first as he settles in.

This lovely boy does have a “cauliflower ear” on his left side, which only adds to his character, and he’s currently quite overweight, so his new family will need to help him on a steady, gentle weight-loss journey with a healthy diet and regular exercise.

After everything Peli has been through, he so deserves a forever home filled with love, security, and kindness. Whoever opens their heart to him will gain the most wonderful, devoted friend.

Peli has tested negative for brucellosis.
